Betamax, you could take and record hi-quality audio on - we used to use it in our location recording biz. HD-DVD....ummmmmm, huh?

I kinda wonder if this will be a generational thing, with the younger folk going with the obsolete technology they know, rather than the obsolete technology they've only heard the old folk talk about.

Check the package and discs again. Those might have been issued HD-DVD on one side, regular DVD on the other of each disc.

Childhood memories of Betamax are why I bought neither HD-DVD nor Blue-ray until the format war was over.

I think Betamax still had some use in Industrial and Commercial applications up into the 90s.
