That was ... odd
I had the 2nd weirdest heckle ever tonight. I was doing FPN and someone asked for Def Leppard. I was struggling to remember the verse, I didn't have my big book with me, and someone grabbed something from a table, got up onstage in back of me ... and poured some sugar on me. A lot of sugar. There is a point at which your improv skills fail you. This was one of those points.

I played Low Self Esteem, Heaven Out On The Highway, Ghosts, FPN.

No, instead of sugar, he should have poured salt.

"Hey, what happened to the Gatoraid?"

"A whole lot of medicine just went down."

"Is this another protest sugar tariffs and its ramification of our policy towards Cuba? If so... SPLENDA!"

"Thanks for the lead- in. (singing) Honey, aw sugar sugar..."

Of course, I had all night to think of these and didn't have granules all over me...

Sugar Sugar

Unfortunately, this has me thinking of that lame song by the Archies, with "Honey," "Sugar sugar," and (2/3 of the way through the song), "Pour a little sugar on me, honey." I don't think you would ever pollute a convention's microphone by singing this, but the connection (to me) is inescapable!

All I can say is, if you're ever doing a solo show and I show up with a bag of sugar, RUN.
