Exactly what are you doing with the songs? Direct covers? Keep in mind, covering part of the song might still have to have the royalties paid for the whole song, if you can't get permission.

A suggestion - use the trad/filker based originals for the recording and swap 1-2 out during live performances to keep the audience guessing.

You have never seen me do this. This has been part of my solo act for 3 or 4 years now but I don't think you have ever seen me do a solo show. The earliest record I have of doing it is 2010, but I know I had been doing it for awhile then.

Folsom Prison Nightmare started when Adam Stemple pointed out to me that Pinball Wizard scans to Folsom Prison Blues. I decided to find out what else scanned to Folsom Prison. The answer, quite a lot. When I was still performing solo I would close shows with this, frequently including songs by people in the audience.

I usually start with the original first verse, and then things go sideways from there. One easily recognizable verse from a song and move on.

Here is a version from Marscon a few years ago.

Poker Face (Lady Gaga)
Video Killed The Radio Star (Buggles)
Sex Machine (James Brown)
Too Shy (Kajagoogoo)

Or something to that effect. I'm not sure why I like '80s stuff in there, I just does. And yes I know Poker Face isn't '80s, but is timeless in it's awfulness.
