The joyful day!

New Day (in the evening)

So, I did an unusually serious and very fun set tonight. There was a flashback to my stand up days as I was introduced as "something a little different". And boy was I.

The first act was this guy Ron aka Paint Dog. I love Paint Dog. He does Dylan and Woody and a few of his own songs (he needs to do more) and announces Mr Bojangles as a Jerry Jeff Walker song ... good for him.

The middle act was this guy who does a lot of train songs and such. He was quite good, but he talked loudly through the last half of my set with one of the folks who booked the show. How nice of them.

My set ...

Hey Dad
In Crosby Park
Things You Never Know
The One I Chased Away
Color Of Your Eyes
Don't Go Home
Product Might Be Hot
Hand Above The Water

There was a small but appreciative audience who, regardless that I took out all the "offensive" stuff still didn't seem to know what to do with me. I started a little off but warmed up quickly.

I sang as well as I ever have. My playing was a little out of it. I need to re-adjust some things. I'm having problems with my right hand that ties in to my back problems. We'll see what happens.
