The Pegasus Awards Brainstorming Poll
Ummm ... well. The Pegasus Brainstorming Poll has finished and names have been posted.

The thing that makes me happiest is that there are so many new folks on it. Groups and performers who have only been around a couple of years including several who are some of my favorites. I am a brand new fan of Copy Red Leader, our dear friends in Wax Chaotic, Bari and Cat all got well deserved notice. Toyboat got a nod for best performers. Michael Nixon got a much deserved notice for best songwriter. Crystal Wolf is in there. Piers Cawley's Child Of The Library should, IMNSHO, win Best Song this year. Yes it's that good and it speaks to all of us. Expect me to rant a bit later.

Oh so many more, but I am still in a bit of a state of shock for Lizzie and myself. We got nods in Best Writer/Composer, Best Performer, Song, Best Song of Passage and Best Song of Passage (since there are two of our songs in the latter). Lizzie may never recover. Waking up to a squeeing Lizzie is always a wonderful thing.

Thank you to everyone who believes in us. We are overwhelmed.

This was originally posted on Dreamwidth, after which it wandered out to various other sites. Feel free to reply where ever you want. I should still see it.

First, congratulations. To you and to all.

Second, thanks for bringing it to people's attention. This is the first I heard about it.

Third, upon ego scanning (!) I see I'm mentioned in two categories. Nice. I have no expectation of being nominated, but knowing that anyone likes my stuff or cares enough to nominate is honor enough, for me. I'm not sure I fit well in "writer/composer" since I'm pretty much only one of the two.

I remember the one time one of my songs was on the brainstorming poll. 'Twas a great feeling, even if it didn't go anywhere from there (which it didn't) -- knowing that at least someone out there was moved enough by the song (or at least enjoyed it) enough to think it worthy of consideration.

Who are you on Dreamwidth? I just created an account there myself (under the same username).
