My weekend
So, yesterday. A football game. First of all, I hate football, I really do. I used to watch it occasionally when I was a kid, but over the years I have come to despise it.

That said, it was the most active day I have had since I got hurt earlier this year. I walked about 3 1/2 miles according to Lizzie. That included a 35% incline up to our seats, and not a short distance. Then a walk all the way down to the 6th row. Going down stairs is still hard for me, my center of gravity is still forward. Then back up those stairs later, and back down the incline, also difficult.

And we gamed last night.

My legs are kinda done today, but I'm still in better shape than I was just a couple months ago.

I keep going forward.

This was originally posted on Dreamwidth, after which it wandered out to various other sites. Feel free to reply where ever you want. I should still see it.

I hated football until I met marching band, and then I realized it's a fun game to watch. If the NFL didn't exist, football would not be such a terrible game. They do ruin everything, though.

If J. continues in marching band, you will end up seeing many many football games. It's some of the happiest days I can imagine, and I expect you will enjoy the experience.

Jared has been in marching band for 4 years now. This is the first time I got stuck watching FB. It's the difference between a HS game and a college game. You can get into the HS game easily to see the marching band. He was marching with the college band, thus it was a special occasion.

What saw yesterday reinforced that football is a moronic, brutal waste of time that seems to be enjoyed, mostly, by people who are also moronic, brutal wastes of time.

Have you ever seen the movie "Drumline"? It's enthusiastically recommended by a band mom we know.
