The Kickstarter for our third full length album, The Midnight Contingent, is NOW LIVE~!!!

A romp of sinister silliness, guardians and goddesses, and a werebear who has an unusual appetite! Lots of nifty extras, too!

This was originally posted on Dreamwidth, after which it wandered out to various other sites. Feel free to reply where ever you want. I should still see it.

The Kickstarter page talks about two versions of the album, "acoustic" and "full band" but it doesn't give any details. Can you clarify? In particular, are you actually pressing two different versions of the album, or are one or both CD-R only? What will people who don't back the kickstarter see at their local filk dealer later this year?

Also, if (as seems most likely) the full band version is the "real" version of the album and the acoustic version is more a set of "bonus tracks" to let the listener see how the songs developed, you should make it a little clearer on the page that the first $15 option might not be what people think they're getting and they need to keep reading and see that there is a second $15 option.

I do plan on kickstarting this, but I'm too poor to pay at a higher tier and get "everything".

Both will be full, pressed CDs. The acoustic album is just Lizzie and I with minimal overdubs, basically how you would see us at a house concert.

There are slightly different versions of the songs, we have re-written a couple of songs since we recorded the acoustic album late last year, but only for clarity's sake. Beast Within, Ghost Train, and probably Nighty Knights will be slightly different lyrically.

Both albums will be available at filk dealers and from us. We're going to press 500 of each, as we have done for the last two full length CDs. They will not be CDRs.

Do you mind if we use these questions in our FAQ?

Thanks for clarifying. I'd be honored if you'd use my questions in the FAQ.
